Library Stock
As of January 1, 2019, the document collection of the V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine comprises 578,939 storage units on traditional and electronic media. The collection is universal, with 50% consisting of professional publications and 10% being rare and valuable editions from the 18th to the 20th centuries. The collection includes encyclopedias, reference books, dictionaries, monographs, textbooks, teaching aids, educational and methodological materials, and results of scientific research on current pedagogical and psychological issues. There is also extensive coverage of works in philosophy, history, linguistics, and literary studies, as well as fiction and more.
The library receives approximately 6,000 new documents annually.
Between 2002 and 2003, the family of V. Sukhomlynskyi donated 3,393 documents to the library, including works, materials on the educator’s life and activities published in Ukrainian and 50 other languages, as well as video and photo documents collected after his death. This collection served as the basis for the opening of the V. Sukhomlynskyi Reading Room in March 2003 within the library.
In 2013, a collection of publications was formed from the donations by the President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, V. G. Kremen. This collection contains 663 copies in Ukrainian and Russian.

A full-text database of over 1,230 rare editions from the 18th to early 20th centuries (up to 1917) has been created. Access to these documents is available within the library’s local network (in the media center of the main building and the reading room of the branch).
Information about rare textbooks is reflected in the catalog “Textbooks and Teaching Aids (1748-1917) from the collections of the V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine for Primary and Secondary Schools.”

Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine“.
The collection of the V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine includes over 1,000 titles of periodicals in Ukrainian, Russian, and foreign languages (1807-2018). Information about all periodicals (newspapers or journals) received by the library is entered into the electronic catalog (database “Periodicals”). Currently, the catalog contains over 800 periodical titles. The electronic catalog (database “Periodicals”) is constantly updated with new information.
For 2024, the library has subscribed to 6 titles of periodicals from Ukraine.
