28 July 2018 marked the 120th anniversary of the birth of Pavlo Ivanovych Chamata (1898 – 1969), a Ukrainian teacher, psychologist, pedagogue, PhD (Psychology), Assistant Professor, founder of the Ukrainian scientific school for human self-awareness, head of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Pedagogy, rector of the Kyiv O. Horkyi Teachers’ Training Institute, deputy director of the Research Institute of Psychology of the Ukrainian SSR, compiler of Bibliohrafichnyi dovidnyk prats iz psykholohii za 40 rokiv (1917 – 1957) (Bibliographic guide of works on psychology produced during the last 40 years (1917 – 1957)), author of monographs, textbooks for teachers’ training schools and higher education establishments, and works on history of psychology, problems on teaching logics and psychology in secondary school.
