August 17 marks the 261^th anniversary of birth of Maksym Fedorovych Berlynskyi – a Ukrainian historian, educator, the first Kyiv archaeologist, researcher of monastery libraries, chronicles, director of the Main People’s School of Kyiv (since 1809 – the First Kyiv Gymnasium).
