Anti-Plagiarism Policy

The editorial board of the journal ‘Library Science. Documentation. Informology’ informs authors that they bear full personal responsibility for incorrect borrowing or use of other people's research results and compliance with the ethics of scientific citation. Only original materials that have not been previously published are accepted for publication.

Authors must ensure:

- the originality of the articles submitted, i.e. materials that have not been published in other publications in any language;
- the absence of plagiarism;
- references to relevant sources if the works or texts of third parties are used.

The journal "Library Science. Documentation. Informology" uses software to control and detect text borrowing in submitted manuscripts. The percentage of plagiarism is calculated using software that checks documents for borrowings both in the local database and on the Internet. The resulting report is analysed by the editorial board.

The editorial board of the publication analyses all cases of recorded plagiarism and reserves the right not to admit the manuscript to the review process. Scientific works received by the editorial board of the journal are analysed according to the following criteria:

- if the originality of the manuscript text is more than 85%, the material is admitted for consideration;
- if the originality of the work is between 75 and 85%, the scientific work is returned to the authors for revision with a recommendation to review the text borrowings and resubmit the revised article;
- less than 75% – the manuscript is not accepted for consideration;
- no more than 3% of plagiarism from a single source is allowed.

Plagiarism in all forms is unacceptable and is considered a manifestation of unethical behaviour and a violation of the system of professional conduct in relations between authors, reviewers, editors, publishers and readers, which contradicts the provisions of the section on Publication Ethics. If the fact of textual borrowing is discovered after publication, the editorial board will conduct a thorough analysis. The editorial board will contact the author and inform them of the circumstances that have arisen.
