Abstract

The article examines the discourse of the system-forming concept of the communicative approach in education in the pedagogical thought of Ukraine at the beginning of the XXI century (2000–2020 years). The concepts that became the methodological basis of the discourse of the system-forming concept are defined: “pedagogical communication”, “pedagogical interaction”, “pedagogical communication”.The role of “pedagogical communication” as a system-forming concept of communicative and pedagogical phenomena was studied by N. Butenko, I. Bulakh, I. Ziaziun, Z. Kovalchuk, S. Kolomiichenko, M. Kots, V. Maziar et al. The dominant role of ’pedagogical interaction’ in the educational process was emphasised by L. Velytchenko, V. Kruchek, O. Matvienko, M. Tomashevska, and others. “Pedagogical communication” as an important factor in the communicative approach was studied by N. Butenko, N. Volkova, S. Musatov, M. Pryshchak, O. Fentsyk, O. Shkurenko, H. Yatsenko, and others. The study of the discourse of the system-forming concept of the communicative approach in education proves the complexity and contradictions of this process. The reason is the uncertainty of the concepts “communication” (“pedagogical communication”), “interaction” (“pedagogical interaction”) and “communication” (“pedagogical communication”), especially in the context of their relationship, and that these concepts define different aspects (spheres) of the communicative existence of an individual. Therefore, none of them can claim the role of general, system-forming. The necessary concept that would combine “communication”, “interaction” and "communication” would be common to them.

The discourse held since the beginning of the twenty-first century has become an important factor in both intensifying the process of searching for a systemic concept of the communicative approach and developing a theory of the communicative approach in education.
