August teachers’ meetings in the library in the context of the New Ukrainian School
The New Ukrainian School: perspectives and key points teachers’ meeting was held on 30 August 2018 in the reading room of V.O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine, the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. The teaching staff of the magnet school No. 28 with advanced study of foreign languages participated in it.
The event was opened by the Director of the school Natalia Okhrimenko.
The Director of V. O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the NAES of Ukraine Larysa Dmytrivna Berezivska delivered a speech of welcome and congratulated teachers on the beginning of the new school year. She mentioned that this year is a special one as the Project of the New Ukrainian School starts. The Director focused their attention on celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding Ukrainian teacher-humanist Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi in 2018 and events held by the library in this context. She also gave them the information about book exhibitions available in the library reading room and bibliographic lists prepared by the library specialists for conducting the first lesson. In acknowledgement of the long-term cooperation between V.O. Sukhomlynskyi SSPL of Ukraine and Kyiv magnet school No. 28 L.D. Berezivska gave a set of children’s books for the school library.
Ya.M. Nikolaienko, the researcher of the the Department of Scientific and Document Support, Sociocultural Activity and International Contacts, presented the following book exhibitions: School Teacher of New Generation, Quality Textbook for Ukrainian School, Forms of Education: a New Edition of the Law of Ukraine On Education and others.
N.M. Okhrimenko outlined the peculiarities of evaluation of pupils of the 1-5 forms, analysed preparedness of schools for realising the Concept of a New Ukrainian School, and mentioned top priority actions and tasks.
In the end of the event teachers had the opportunity to look book exhibitions over and to acquaint themselves with the collection of the reading room of V.O. Sukhomlynskyi SSPL of Ukraine, the NAES of Ukraine.
